Llyfr Cyfrifon Goruchwylwyr y Tlodion, 1848-1868

Overseers of the Poor Account Book, 1848-1868

Mae'r llyfr yn cynnwys cyfrifon cryno Goruchwylwyr y Tlodion yn y plwyf am 1848-1868. Adroddwyd y cyfrifon fesul chwech mis, ym mis Ebrill a mis Medi. Nid oes fawr o fanylion yn y cofnodion: mae'r trawsgrifiad yn dangos y cofnod cyntaf yn llawn, ond wedi hynny dim ond y pethau afreolaidd sydd yma.

Llofnodwyd y cyfrifon gan y Goruchwylwyr cyn iddynt gael eu harchwiliad. (Yn aml, gwrthododd yr archwiliwr taliad!) Rwyf hefyd wedi trawsgrifio rhestr y Goruchwylwyr i'r cyfnod.

The book contains the summary accounts of the Overseers of the Poor for the parish for 1848-1868. The accounts are reported every six months, in March and September. Entries are quite limited in detail: the first entry is transcribed in full as an example, but thereafter I have only extracted the 'non-routine' items.

The accounts were signed by the Overseers before being audited. (The auditor frequently dis-allowed an item!) I have also extracted a list of the overseers for the period
