The transcription

• Rhan / Part 1:"All that part of the parish that lies north west of the Turnpike Road leading from Talybont to Machynlleth (except the village of Taliesin, Taliesin School House and Tanyrallt Farm)"
• Rhan / Part 2:"All the remaining part of the Parish that lies South East of the Turnpike road leading from Talybont to Machynlleth (except Tre'rddol and Tynywern villages, the old Wesleyan Chapel and Wesley House adjoining, with Felin Lodge)"

	Nodau i'r adysgrifiad		Notes to the transcription

1. The parish was split into two parts for the census.
   
2. All 'ditto' entries have been replaced throughout by the actual name etc.
   
3. The original return forms have space for thirty-one names on a page: in some cases these are not all used.
   
4. The original Enumerators were not always consistent: parish names have largely been transcribed as written. Some parts have left 'Condition' blank for children under 16, others have entered them all as 'Single'. No attempt has been made to standardise these entries.
   

The full column headings are:

1. Number of Schedule - in some cases there is a W in this column - Schedule filled out in Welsh?
   
2. Road, street etc, and No. or name of House
   
3. Number of houses, Inhabited, Uninhabited (in Occupation - U, not in Occupation - N) or Building (B)
   
4. No. of rooms occupied if less than 5
   
5. Name and Surname of each Person who abode in the house, on the Night of the Census
   
6. Relation to Head of Family
   
7. Condition as to Marriage
   
8. Age last birthday of Males/Females
   
9. Rank, Profession or Occupation
   
10. Whether Employer(E),Worker(W) or On Own Account(O)
    
11. If working at home
    
12. Where born
    
13. Whether Deaf and Dumb, Blind, Lunatic, Imbecile, Feebleminded
    
14. Language spoken: Welsh(W), English(E), Both(B)
